Tapping Away the Fear of Money

I’m running a teleseminar about money with my colleague Kathleen Ann at the moment - and the subject of money brings up a lot of emotions.  The most prevalent one of course is fear, so here is an extract from my book “Create Prosperity” with some tapping suggestions to help release this anxiety and worry.  You fill in the dotted lines with statements of acceptance such as “I deeply and completely accept myself.”

Worrying about money can become totally habitual, and a full-time occupation! We are creatures of habit, and it is easy to fall into a negative pattern of thinking about money. You’ve now learned, of course, that fear, anxiety, and worry are anti-prosperity thought-forms, and so this really needs to be addressed.

Even though I’m always worrying about money …

Even though so much of my energy is consumed with worrying about my financial state …

Even though I spend so much time worrying about my debts/bills …

Even though I’d be irresponsible if I didn’t worry about money …

Even though I can never relax about money …

Even though I always worry that there isn’t enough money …

Even though I spend all my time juggling money and bills …

We’re contrary creatures, because we’re scared both of having money, and of not having money! We’re scared that, if we do have money, we won’t be able to manage it, people will single us out for criticism and judgment, and it may cost us family or friends. Then we’re scared that, if we don’t have enough money, we can’t meet our needs, won’t be able to pay the mortgage, won’t have a roof over our heads, won’t be able to educate the kids properly, won’t be able to afford what they want, will be taken to court, etc., etc.

Even though I’m scared of having too much money …

Even though I’m scared that having money will corrupt me …

Even though I’m afraid people will criticise me for having too much money …

Even though I’m scared that I won’t be able to pay the bills …

Even though I’m scared because I can’t pay the bills …

Even though I hate dealing with financial stuff …

Even though I’m scared I can’t juggle the money to last …

Even though I’m tired of always juggling money …

Even though I’m afraid because more money goes out than comes in …

The idea is to start to have positive emotions around money — to feel grateful for it, to love it, to enjoy it.

I choose to love money.

I choose to think of all my financial transactions favourably.

I choose to express appreciation for all the money I have.

I choose to enjoy the money that flows out as much as the money that flows in.
